The day began mild and hazy. A thin wash of clouds spread across the sky, filtering the light into a dull pink. As I crossed the park I saw that the Nessie's puddle had frozen over and gleaned brightly reflecting the morning sun. Squirrels seemed to be enjoying the chipped ice.
It was supposed to be rainy and windy today, but when I went out for a mid-day walk the sky was gray and there was no wind. You could tell something was coming, or was supposed to come.
The weatherman spoke of snow wind and ice. Yet, nothing came. When I came home from work the sky was clear and I could see a crescent moon hanging low above the city. Thus far we have had no snow this winter, and I have to admit I am getting impatient.
